Kiwanis Closets
Kiwanis Closets provides elementary schools in Hancock County, as well as Blanchard Valley School and St. Michael the Archangel School, with a variety of new clothing items. If a child comes to school without something they need or they make a mess and need a change of clothes, new socks, sweatpants, underwear and shirts are available.
In 2023 a grant was secured to expand closets to Hancock County middle schools. In addition to clothing, the middle school closets will offer hygeine products like deodorant, shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, comb and brush, as well as nonperishable food items.

Enchroma Glasses
The Kiwanis Club of Findlay is the first Kiwanis club in the country to work with EnChroma to help students overcome the learning and everyday challenges posed by color blindness. The Club distributes glasses to color blind students in Hancock County.

Brucklacher Memorial Park
The Kiwanis Club of Findlay's 100th anniversary present to the community, Brucklacher Memorial Park opened in 2020. The park includes a playground, sculptures, history walk, and shelter house. Created in collaboration with Hancock Historical Museum, The Little Red Schoolhouse is at the same location.
The park honors the late Jim Brucklacher, a past president of the Findlay Kiwanis Club and a trustee of the club’s foundation, as well as a founder, past president and longtime trustee of the museum.
Efforts are currently underway to establish an endowment to guarantee that Brucklacher Memorial Park can be enjoyed for generations to come. Donations are tax deductible and can be made here!
Amtryke Project
In the 2015-16 Kiwanis year Ohio District Governor Amy Zimmerman selected Amtryke therapeutic tricycles as the First Family project. She encouraged Ohio Kiwanians to provide Amtryke units for individuals with disabilities and/or special needs. During that time the Kiwanis Club of Findlay was involved with the development of the Miracle Field inclusive playground. That enabled us to make connections with families that would benefit from an Amtryke. A list of potential recipients was compiled and the initial screening process provided the club with the names of potential qualifying children. In 2016 the first Amtrykes were awarded in Hancock County.
The Kiwanis Club of Findlay continues to participate in this project and awarded an Amtryke as recently as 2023.
Dolly Parton's Imagination Library
Kids Need Kiwanis. Kids need books!
What better way is there to make a lifelong impact on kids than enrolling them in Dolly Parton's Imagination Library! Each month, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library mails a high-quality, age-appropriate book to all registered children, addressed to them, at no cost to the child’s family. Over 250,000 books have been mailed to children in Hancock County and that number is growing every month!
The Kiwanis Club of Findlay joined the cause in 2015, making a donation on behalf of every speaker that presented a program at our weekly meetings to the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library in support of Dolly's Imagination Library. To date, the Kiwanis Club of Findlay has donated over $6,500 which covered the local costs for mailing over 5,200 books!
